Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide having a small number of components, requiring no alignment and capable of changing a guiding direction of light even in a multimode optical waveguide having a large diameter in a small bent portion bent into a desired radius, and to provide an optical waveguide component and a method for manufacturing the optical waveguide.SOLUTION: In an optical waveguide, a heating object portion of the optical waveguide 1 is heated to be changed into a processing state, and the heating object portion 9 changed into the processing state is bent into a curved line at a prescribed bending radius to form a bent portion 10, where the bent portion 10 is changed into a processing distortion state. The bent portion 10 changed into the processing distortion state is stored in space 200 of a fixing member 120. In the bent portion 10 stored in the fixing member 120, a surface 19 is filled with a substance 350 having a refractive index for light smaller than the refractive index of the surface of the bent portion 10. |
