Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt type continuously variable transmission capable of preventing a sheave 7 from being elastically deformed by a reaction force received from a belt 4.SOLUTION: The belt type continuously variable transmission includes: a fixed sheave 5 integrated with a rotary shaft 12; a movable sheave 7 integrated with the other rotary shaft 13 so as to approach or separate to/from the fixed sheave 5; a pressing mechanism for pressing the movable sheave 7 to the side of the fixed sheave 5; and a belt 4 rolled up on grooves formed by opposing surfaces 5a, 7a in which the fixed sheave 5 faces to the movable sheave 7 with each other. The variable transmission also includes a sheave support member 17, which is movably provided in an axial direction together with the movable sheave 7 from the outer periphery of a rear side of the movable sheave 7 over an outer peripheral surface of the other rotary shaft 13, and which is suppressed to deform the movable sheave 7 by receiving a load from the belt 4, wherein a pressurized oil is supplied to a space 20 covered by the movable sheave 7, the other rotary shaft 13 and the sheave support member 17.
