Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage at the contact part of adjoining split cores, at the time of shrink fitting.SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine comprises a housing, a stator having a cylindrical stator core being fixed to the housing by shrink fitting, and a rotor disposed rotatably on the inside of the stator. The stator core consists of split cores 237A split into two or more cores in the circumferential direction. The shapes of the split faces 300A, 400A of the split core 237A are determined so that, in the split faces 300A, 400A of the split core 237A, the amount of strain occurring due to shrink fitting in the split faces 301A, 401A on the outer diameter side is larger than the amount of strain occurring due to shrink fitting in the split faces 302A, 402A on the inner diameter side.
