Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft of a golf club having both high carry performance and directionality while improving in the adhesion properties of a fiber reinforced resin layer and a metal foil and a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A golf club shaft of piled-up carbon fiber reinforced resin has at least a layer of a metal sheet with the carbon fiber reinforced resin and the metal sheet is a mesh metal sheet finished with chemical etching treatment. The golf club shaft has the metal sheets layers extending 700-890 mm from the small-diameter end of the golf shaft.
