Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly set a sampling interval for calculating a power consumption and to properly estimate a cruising range based on a power consumption in response to a situation.SOLUTION: A vehicle cruising range estimator includes a remaining quantity calculation means 12 for calculating the remaining quantity of power in a driving battery 7, a first power consumption calculation means 14a for calculating a first power consumption based on the power consumption of the battery 7 and a vehicle travel distance at a first sampling interval, a second power consumption calculation means 14b for calculating a second power consumption based on the power consumption of the battery 7 and a vehicle travel distance at a second sampling interval longer than the first sampling interval, and a cruising range estimation means 15 for estimating a cruising range estimation value by using the remaining quantity of the battery 7 and the first and second power consumptions.
