PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device returning just leaking light to a light guide plate to be made usable as illumination light without increasing assembling manhour and electronic equipment.SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display device 100, a reflection surface 180 is attached to a portion overlapped with a peripheral portion 80g on a side where a light incident section 80a of a light guide plate 80 is located in a surface 182b on the light guide plate 80 side in a diffusion sheet 182 located on the closest side to the light guide plate 80 side of a plurality of sheets of optical sheets arranged to be overlapped between the light guide plate 80 and a liquid crystal panel 10. Light emitted from the peripheral portion 80g of the light guide plate 80 therefore is reflected by the reflection surface 180 and is returned to the inside of the light guide plate 80, and subsequently the light is emitted as illumination light from a light emission surface 80b, advancing in the light guide plate 80.
