Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable protection member which enables pipe cutting for maintenance without causing damage to a cable even if a special appropriate tool for pipe cutting cannot be used in areas where the pipeline space is narrow.SOLUTION: A cable protection member 1 protects a cable 4 when a pipeline 3, housing the cable 4 therein, is cut. The cable protection member 1 has a cylindrical shape, is composed of a flexible member 5 and super hard members 6 resisting against a blade of a cutting tool, and has a structure that may be divided into half pieces. Cutting is made at arrangement positions of the super hard materials 6 on a surface of the flexible member 5 so as to fit with the shape of the super hard materials 6. The plate like or bar like super hard members 6 are buried in the arrangement positions to be disposed therein. Ring shaped protruding parts 8 are provided at positions on both end parts of the cable protection member 1.
