Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component measuring device for outputting a sound at an appropriate volume according to an ambience; and to provide a medical instrument.SOLUTION: A blood glucose monitoring instrument 10a includes: a measuring unit 68 for measuring the blood glucose value; a loudspeaker 54 which outputs information in a voice form; a microphone 58 which inputs sounds in the periphery; and a control unit 60. A sound volume automatic adjusting part 90 of the control unit 60 determines a peripheral sound volume inputted from the microphone 58, and adjusts the output sound volume of information outputted from the loudspeaker 54 according to the peripheral sound volume. By automatically adjusting the output sound volume according to the peripheral sound volume, an appropriate sound volume corresponding to the peripheral sound volume can be obtained without operating a volume control knob. Further, the blood glucose monitoring instrument 10a has a volume switch 40a for manually adjusting the output sound volume from the loudspeaker 54 by switching off the sound volume automatic adjusting part 90.
