PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method capable of forming an image of good density at high speed by an inkjet recorder with no special mechanism without using any liquid other than ink while suppressing an ink ejection failure when the image is formed after stop of ink ejection from a recording head for some time and contamination of a recording medium by offsetting.SOLUTION: In the image forming method by a line head system inkjet recorder provided with a four or more of recording heads for ejecting black ink and three or more of color ink and a discharge part for discharging the recording medium, weight average molecular weight of a resin included in the ink and the value of resin mass/pigment mass are made within a specific range and black ink of specific constitution is ejected from a recording head of first color and further color ink is ejected from recording heads of second and subsequent color. Color ink having largest sum of the content of the pigment and the resin among color ink is ejected from the recording head of the second color.
