Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover member for a sensor element that effectively inhibits water-induced cracking of the sensor element while suppressing deterioration or the like in intake characteristics or exhaust characteristics.SOLUTION: The cover member 50 is configured to include: a first portion formed of a shape memory alloy whose shape is changed so as to change the size of an introduction hole 52 at a first prescribed temperature; and a second portion provided around the introduction hole 52 and formed of a shape memory alloy whose surface shape is changed at a second prescribed temperature.
