Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tire, capable of improving fuel efficiency, wear resistance and wet grip performance in a balanced manner, and a pneumatic tire using the composition.SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tire includes: a copolymer having a weight average molecular weight of 1.0×10-2.5×10, the copolymer being obtained by copolymerizing 1,3-butadiene, styrene and 1-10C-alkoxy-substituted styrene, and having a functional group which has amino group at one terminal and includes at least one atom selected from the group consisting of nitrogen, oxygen and silicon at the other terminal; and a compound represented by formula (A), wherein each of Rand R, R, which may be the same or different, represents hydrogen atom, 1-30C branched or non-branched alkyl, 2-30C branched or non-branched alkenyl, 6-30C branched or non-branched aryl, or hydroxyl, and r represents an integer of 0-8.
