Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device capable of performing a handwriting input to a display device without reducing display quality of the display device, and further to provide an input system.SOLUTION: An input device 4 that inputs a hand by handwriting to a display device 3 and causes the display device 3 to display the hand by using a transparent electrode layer and a position information pattern layer 34 provided in the display device 3 comprises: an illumination section 50 for irradiating light including a wavelength capable of being reflected at the transparent electrode layer; an imaging section 51 for imaging light that is reflected at the transparent electrode layer and passes through a position information pattern; and an information transmission section 42 for transmitting information associated with the hand on the basis of an image imaged by the imaging section 51 to the display device 3.
