Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having no possibility of short-circuit of electrodes with each other formed on both sides of an insulation film in a level difference part.SOLUTION: A first board includes: an active element; a first insulation film formed on a layer upper than the active element; a first electrode provided on a layer upper than the first insulation film; a second insulation film provided on a layer upper than the first electrode; and a second electrode provided on a layer upper than the second insulation film. The first insulation film has a first contact hole while the second insulation film is integrally formed between the first electrode and the second electrode and in the first contact hole. In the second insulation film in the first contact hole, a second contact hole is formed. The second insulation film is formed with first film thickness and is subsequently formed by reducing film thickness up to second film thickness thinner than the first film thickness before forming the second electrode.
