Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a pneumatic tire, in which the external appearance of the pneumatic tire is restrained from being deteriorated.SOLUTION: The method for producing the pneumatic tire 1 includes: a step of sticking a reinforcing rubber sheet 16 to a molded former F; a first molding step of winding a carcass ply 6A and forming a first molding 10A including a cylindrical carcass ply 17 having a joint part 17A disposed on the outside of the reinforcing rubber sheet 16 in the radial direction; a second molding step of expanding the first molding 10A in a toroidal shape to form a second molding 10B; a third molding step of removing the reinforcing rubber sheet 16 from the second molding 10B and molding a green cover 1L; and a step of subjecting the green cover 1L to vulcanization molding.
