PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propulsion device for achieving higher speed/lower fuel consumption by generating propulsive force by the propulsion device itself and performing the action of lowering large resistance of water of a ship.SOLUTION: At the propulsion device of a ship, one or more pieces of belts 1 having continuous projections for paddling or propellers connected in a belt shape are arranged on the almost entire ship bottom from the bow through the ship bottom to the stern, are returned to the bow after passing through a double bottom 4 inside the ship and the structure has a repeating rotation cycle. The belt is rotated along the ship bottom and pushes out water to the back to obtain propulsive force, the moving direction of the propulsion belt and the flowing direction of water from an advancing direction are the same, and the moving speed difference of the water and the belt is small, causing the action of largely reducing the resistance of the water. Thus, the speed of the ship is made higher and fuel consumption is made low.
