Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarbonate resin having high surface hardness, high flame retardancy and with less foreign matters.SOLUTION: The polycarbonate resin has a repeating unit of formula (1), and the content of a structural unit derived from a compound represented by formula (2) is ≥20 ppm but ≤1,000 ppm. In the formula (1), Rand Rare each independently (un)substituted 1-20C alkyl or (un)substituted aryl; and X is single bond, (un)substituted alkylene, (un)substituted alkylidene, or (un)substituted sulfur or oxygen. In the formula (2), Rand Rare each independently the same group as formula (1), and Ris hydrogen, (un)substituted 1-20C alkyl or (un)substituted aryl.
