Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight insert molded product, which can prevent a sheet metal from deforming due to mold shrinkage.SOLUTION: A metal insert molding method includes: forming a linear slit 33 in a stainless sheet 31 (sheet metal); engaging the stainless sheet 31 having the linear slit 33 formed therein to the inside of a cavity of a molding die; then casting a molten resin in the inside of the cavity to which the stainless sheet 31 is engaged; and eliminating by the linear slit 33, the mold shrinkage caused when the molten resin is cooled and solidified.
