Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder capable of being used in a powder form and suitably used for an aqueous electrode composition.SOLUTION: A metal salt-containing binder used in a secondary battery electrode includes polymer powder, and the polymer powder essentially includes 10-60 mass% of a structural unit derived from an ethylenic unsaturated carboxylate monomer and 10-90 mass% of a structural unit derived from an ethylenic unsaturated carboxylate ester monomer, relative to 100 mass% of the total structural units included in the polymer powder.
