PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edger capable of measuring a position of an edger roll with high accuracy.SOLUTION: This edger includes: the edger roller 10 which is arranged on the side of a rolling material 20 to mill the rolling material 20 in a width direction; a pair of axle boxes 11 and 12 supporting an upper end part and a lower end part of the edger roller 10; a pair of position adjusting cylinders 40 and 50 which adjust positions of the pair of axle boxes 11 and 12; a beam 13 interconnecting the pair of axle boxes 11 and 12; a pull-back cylinder 60 fixed to the beam 13; a sensor 15 for pull-back cylinder, which detects displacement amount of the pull-back cylinder 60; and sensors for position adjusting cylinder 25 and 26, which detect the displacement amount of the position adjusting cylinders 40 and 50.
