Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a seawater pump of an emergency nuclear reactor auxiliary machine cooling system to be operated and achieve cold shut down of a nuclear reactor even if it is struck by a large tsunami after an earthquake.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a tsunami corresponding type nuclear reactor power plant which includes a pump operational system suitable for maintaining the normal operation of a seawater pump of a nuclear reactor auxiliary machine cooling system in consideration of behavior of highest and lowest tide levels when a large tsunami strikes this nuclear reactor power plant. The inventive tsunami corresponding type nuclear reactor power plant includes, as effective means against the highest tide level, a waterproof type seawater-resistance pump chamber and a seawater intake structure for waterproof construction of the seawater pump driven by a waterproof type electric motor and motor drive power cables for achieving the function of the seawater pump, and for protecting equipment such as the seawater pump, pipelines, and valves when a large tsunami strikes them.
