Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of always keeping a fuel container in a safe state by controlling a pressure state of the fuel container in accordance with a power generation state of a power generation part.SOLUTION: A fuel cell includes: a power generation part 101 which generates electric power by supply of fuel; a fuel container 1 which is attachably and detachably connected to the power generation part 101, houses the fuel, and supplies the fuel to the power generation part 101; a power generation state detection part 103 which detects a power generation state of the power generation part 101; a pressure detection part 9 which detects internal pressure of the fuel container 1; a fuel consumption part 10 which consumes the fuel in the fuel container 1; and a control part 7 which controls the fuel consumption amount in the fuel consumption part 10 in accordance with a detection value by the power generation state detection part 103 and a pressure value detected by the pressure detection part 9. The control par 7 controls the fuel consumption amount in the fuel consumption part 10 so that the detection value by the pressure detection part 9 becomes equal to or lower than a desired value.
