PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visitor with useful advertising information from a monitor of a sub-unit at entrance safely and easily without using an external communication device.SOLUTION: In an intercommunication system 100 for a detached house or a complex housing, an entrance sub-unit 1 is connected to a room base-unit 2 through a transmission wire 3. The entrance sub-unit 1 is provided with a call button 11 with which a visitor V calls a resident R, a microphone and a speaker that are used for communication with the resident R, a sub-unit camera 15 that takes an image of the resident V, and a sub-unit monitor 17 that displays advertising information. The room base-unit 2 is provided with an operation unit 21 for responding to a call from the visitor V, a speaker and microphone that are used for communication with the visitor V, a memory unit that memorizes the advertising information, and a base-unit CPU. The base-unit CPU performs control to retrieve the advertising information from the memory unit and display the retrieved information on the sub-unit monitor 17 through a speech path on the transmission wire 3 during a call for the resident R and a call communication between the visitor V and the resident R.
