Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate for a touch panel with a predetermined strength without generation of microcracks along the contour, which is collectively produced with other glass substrates for touch panels.SOLUTION: An original glass plate from which a plurality of glass substrates are to be cut out is collectively provided with detecting electrode patterns and leading wire patterns formed on the respective glass substrates. Each of the glass substrates for a touch panel is then separated by chemical etching. Due to the separation by chemical etching, no microcrack is generated along the contour.
