PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preform for thermoplastic resin containers which achieves an excellent material yield by restraining poor molding in a molding process, and to provide a manufacturing method of the preform.SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin-made preform has: a compression-molded layer 24 formed by compression-molding a thermoplastic resin sheet into a shape having a bottom portion 23 and an opening 22; and an injection-molded layer 15 formed on the outer or inner surface of the compression-molded layer 24 by injection molding. The thermoplastic resin-made preform is formed by expanding into the predetermined shape through blow molding in a heat-softened state. The injection-molded layer 15 is thickest in the bottom portion 23 and becomes thinner toward the opening 22 side.
