Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay device that prevents contacts from being separated from one another by electromagnetic repulsive force and thereby allows stable passage of electric current.SOLUTION: A relay device 1 of the present invention includes: a fixed member 10 that has fixed contacts 5; a movable element 6 that has movable contacts 7 in respective positions facing the respective fixed contacts 5; and a drive section 14 that moves the movable element 6 between a closed position where the fixed contacts 5 and the movable contacts 7 come into contact with one another and an open position where the fixed contacts 5 and the movable contacts 7 are separated from one another. The relay device 1 is also provided with a magnetic force generating section 3 that generates attractive force in such a direction as to bring the movable contacts 7 into contact with the respective fixed contacts 5 with the movable element 6 in the closed position. The magnetic force generating section 3 generates attractive force by permanent magnets.
