Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which, when an object placed on a base surface is photographed from above, it is photographed in a state where, for example, a paper surface of a book is curved, so that it is photographed in a distorted state.SOLUTION: A predetermined subject can be placed on a base surface. When a projection unit projects light of a predetermined pattern on the base surface from a position higher than the base surface, a camera unit performs photographing on the base surface. When the subject is placed on the base surface, the pattern is projected on a three-dimensional surface, and a distortion correction parameter calculation unit calculates a parameter for restoring a surface shape of the subject placed on the base surface to a planar state from distortion of the pattern based on image data obtained by photographing the projected pattern by the camera unit. Then, an image data distortion correction calculation unit performs conversion into planar image data obtained by removing distortion generated in the image data photographed by the camera unit based on the calculated distortion correction parameter. Finally, a planar image in which distortion is removed is output.
