Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell and gas turbine combined power generating system capable of performing boosting operation in a short time when a fuel cell is started, and a start method of the fuel cell thereof.SOLUTION: A fuel cell and gas turbine combined power generation system comprises: a discharge air passage Lwhich supplies discharge air 18A discharged from a compressor 14 of a gas turbine 11 to the SOFC13 side; an exhaust air passage Lwhich supplies exhaust air 18B exhausted from the SOFC13 to a gas turbine combustor 16; a fuel gas passage Lwhich supplies a fuel gas 31 to the SOFC13 side; an exhaust fuel gas passage Lwhich supplies an exhaust fuel gas 31A exhausted from the fuel electrode side of the SOFC13 to the gas turbine combustor 16; a communication passage Lwhich branches from the discharge air passage Land temporarily introduces the discharge air 18A into the fuel gas passage L; and replacement gas supply means for supplying a nitrogen gas 41 which replaces the discharge air 18A temporarily introduced into the fuel gas passage L.
