PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonwoven fabric that is capable of efficiently utilizing a regenerated carbon fiber, light weight and excellent in rigidity, a method for producing the nonwoven fabric, and a sandwiched material that includes the nonwoven fabric.SOLUTION: A nonwoven fabric 9 in which chopped regenerated carbon fibers 5 and thermoplastic resin fibers 6 are sufficiently mixed is obtained by passing a laminated mat 7 that contains the chopped regenerated carbon fibers 5 with a surface sizing agent removed and the thermoplastic resin fibers 6 through a defibrating machine and a carding machine 8 in turn. Then, a sandwiched material is obtained by needle punching a symmetric three-layer structure that comprises the nonwoven fabric 9 as a surface material and a nonwoven fabric comprising bamboo/PP as a core material.
