Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type optical element cooling device which does not use a filter and has high cooling efficiency.SOLUTION: The reflection type optical element cooling device cools a DMD 6 being a reflection type video element. The DMD 6 has a mirror arrangement part 18 where a mirror is arranged on a light receiving surface 102, and includes: a front surface cooling member 17 arranged so as to be in contact with at least one part of the light receiving surface 102 except the mirror arrangement part 18; and a back surface cooling member 14 arranged on a back surface on an opposite side to the light receiving surface 102 of the DMD 6.
