Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress power consumption as a detection system by detecting the extension and contraction of a knitted fabric or woven fabric as a change in capacitance in a tensile deformation detection fabric used in a system for detecting a body behavior of a disabled person and a humanoid robot.SOLUTION: A woven fabric 10 configured by including a plurality of conductive threads 11 is made freely extendable and contractable in one direction, an interval between the conductive threads 11 adjacent to each other changes due to the extension and contraction thereof, the adjacent conductive threads with each other are configured so as to maintain an insulation state, and edges of the respective adjacent conductive threads 11 are made a pair of electrodes 13 and 14 to measure capacitance. Since the extension and contraction of the woven fabric 10 are detected as capacitance, current is not caused to flow to the conductive threads 11 even when voltage is applied so that power consumption at the part can be zero and that power consumption can be suppressed as the whole detection system.
