Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element in which a light-emitting part is less susceptible to deterioration although a fine uneven layer is provided between a transparent substrate and the light-emitting part.SOLUTION: The organic EL element 1 comprises: a transparent substrate 10; a light extraction part 20 provided on the transparent substrate 10 and having a fine uneven layer 22; a light-emitting part 30 provided on the light extraction part 20 and having a transparent electrode 32, an organic semiconductor layer 34 including a luminous layer (not shown), and a back plate 36, in order from the transparent substrate 10; and a sealing part 40 which seals the light extraction part 20 and the light-emitting part 30. The light extraction part 20 is not exposed from the outer surface of the sealing part 40.
