Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light-emitting device in which high reliability and a long life can be expected by effectively preventing moisture absorption to a planarization film.SOLUTION: A planarization film 11, a coating film 20, a positive electrode 2, and a hole injection layer 4 are formed on one surface of a substrate 10. The planarization film 11 is coated with the coating film 20. An organic light-emitting device 1 is constituted by laminating a hole transport layer 6A, a light-emitting layer 6B, and a negative electrode 8 sequentially on the hole injection layer 4. The coating film 20 and the hole injection layer 4 are tungsten oxide layers having a thickness of 2 nm or more deposited under certain deposition conditions, so as to have an electronic state where an occupied level exists in a range of bond energy which is 1.8-3.6 eV lower than the lowest bond energy in a valence band. A source electrode 17 and the positive electrode 2 are connected electrically with the coating film 20 interposed therebetween.
