Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which an imaging element is accurately locked at a predetermined position to be improved in strength against falling and shock.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging element 4 on which an image of a beam from a subject is formed; imaging element moving means 10 which moves the imaging element 4 in an optical axis direction; and locking means 20 which locks the imaging element 4 at the predetermined position separated by a predetermined distance from a reference surface 4a along the optical axis direction. The locking means 20 comprises: a spacer member 22 moving back and force between the reference surface 4a and the imaging element 4; and biasing members 26 and 27 which press the imaging element 4 to the spacer member 22.
