Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method in an MPEG surround decoder, which adjusts a delay according to a type of a down-mix audio signal and controls synchronization between a down-mix signal and an MPEG surround additional information signal.SOLUTION: In restoring a multi-channel audio signal by using an MPEG surround low-power decoder, a method according to the present invention is provided with delay means to compensate a delay generated at a real/complex converter when a QMF signal in the complex number region output from a general HE-AAC decoder is used as a down-mix signal. The method is also provided with delay means to delay a space parameter for compensating a delay generated during a processes of a QMF and a Nyquist filter bank when a down-mix signal in a time region output from the HE-AAC decoder is used together. In addition, in restoring the multi-channel audio signal by using an MPEG surround decoder in a high quality mode, the method uses a delay unit to compensate the delay generated at the real/complex converter.
