Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosensitive recording medium having sufficient print density, printing image quality, glossiness, whiteness, abrasion resistance, water resistance, and plasticizer resistance.SOLUTION: The thermosensitive recording medium includes: on a support, a thermosensitive recording layer containing a colorless or light-color electron-donating leuco dye and an electron-accepting developer; and a protective layer on the thermosensitive recording layer. In the thermosensitive recording medium, the thermosensitive recording layer contains 4-hydroxy-4'-isopropoxydiphenylsulfone as the electron-accepting developer, and the protective layer is obtained by pressing the same in a wet state onto a heated mirror surface drum and drying the same.
