Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data comparator circuit and a data comparison method capable of reducing processing time.SOLUTION: A data comparator circuit 1 of the present invention comprises a comparator 11, a data selection part 12 and a maximum value calculation part 13. The comparator 11 compares value of a high-order bit of each of a plurality of pieces of data and a first threshold. From a plurality of pieces of the data, the data selection part 12 selects data whose high-order bit value exceeds the first threshold. The maximum value calculation part 13 calculates a maximum value from the data selected by the data selection part 12.
