Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable downsizing by shortening a distance from image sensors to a float to be a subject, and to obtain accurate electric signal output for a float position.SOLUTION: A tapered pipe 13 formed of translucent material is arranged in a vertical direction, and a float 14 is inserted in the tapered pipe 13. Illumination means 15 is arranged in a longitudinal direction of the tapered pipe 13, and on a lateral side of the tapered pipe 13, multiple sets of image sensor units 18 each including an optical lens 16 and an image sensor 17 are arranged. By providing the multiple sets of the image sensor units 18, detection range of the float 14 is shared in the longitudinal direction, and distance between the image sensors 17 and the tapered pipe 13 is shortened. Based on a position of an image of the float 14 obtained by the image sensors 17, a position of the float 14 relative to the tapered pipe 13 is calculated and flow rate can be detected.
