Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for charging/discharging a lithium-ion secondary battery capable of suppressing a reduction of the product life of a manganese lithium-ion secondary battery during storage.SOLUTION: A first threshold that is smaller than a degradation progression SOC (state of charge) where a battery performance degrades during storage, and a second threshold that is greater than the degradation progression SOC are set ahead of time. On the basis of the value of SOC of a lithium-ion secondary battery transmitted from a monitoring device, a computer, during a charging of the lithium-ion secondary battery, controls a switch, which is installed between the lithium-ion secondary battery and power distribution lines to which a power supply source and a load are connected, in a manner so that the charging operation of the lithium-ion secondary battery continues from the first threshold to the second threshold, and during the discharging of the lithium-ion secondary battery, controls the switch in a manner so that the discharging operation of the lithium-ion secondary battery continues from the second threshold to the first threshold.
