Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-filtration pre-separation device, and a method for removing an algae using the device.SOLUTION: The non-filtration pre-separation device includes a system having a hydrodynamic separator 50 including at least one curved structure 104 for removing a bio-organism from seawater. The structure includes an inlet 102 effectively connected to a supply source of untreated seawater, and a branched outlet 106 operating so as to pass a pre-treated outflow fluid to a downstream filtration system and remove a waste fluid. Various fluidic structures, implementations and selected fabrication techniques to achieve the device can be provided regardless of whether singular or stacked and/or bundled parallel configuration.
