Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance image display performance of a liquid crystal display device driving a liquid crystal layer by a lateral electric field method.SOLUTION: In a pixel region, a liquid crystal display device has: a plurality of first transparent conductive films PX being disposed apart from one another and having line shapes; a second transparent conductive film CT overlapping with the plurality of first transparent conductive films PX through an insulating film and having a flat plate shape; and a third transparent conductive film ITO1 being disposed between a drain signal line DL and a liquid crystal LC and being electrically separated from the first transparent conductive films PX. The first transparent conductive films PX are connected to a thin film transistor TFT and supplied with pixel potential. The second transparent conductive film CT is supplied with a counter potential being a reference potential.
