Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a halogen-free flame retardant wire/cable having both excellent flame resistance and excellent mechanical characteristics.SOLUTION: The flame retardant wire/cable has a coating on an outer periphery of a conductor. The coating comprises a halogen-free flame retardant resin composition containing 30 to 90 pts. mass of (C) huntite with an average particle size (D) of 0.3 to 0.7 μm and (D) hydromagnesite with an average particle size (D) of 3.0 to 5.0 μm in total, relative to 100 pts. mass of a base polymer comprising (A) an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and (B) an ethylene-acrylic acid ethyl copolymer, while a mass ratio of (C) huntite and (D) hydromagnesite is 40:60 to 60:40.
