Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter medium that hardly frays (i.e., a hairly filament hardly falls off), is easy to capture suspended matter, and has a high efficiency for capturing suspended matter.SOLUTION: The filter medium 26 is characterized in that a fusible core yarn 20 and a fusible pressing yarn 21 are twisted together to hold hairy filaments 22a therebetween. The hairy filaments 22a are made fluffy to have fusible yarns to be bonded and fused to the core yarn 20 and the pressing yarn 21.
