Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress density unevenness (stripes) caused by deviation of RGB components in a dot area and a parallel line (line screen) area.SOLUTION: An original discriminated by an original type discrimination part 34 as a printed photograph original including black dots or a character printed photograph original, or discriminated to belong to the black dot area by an area separation processing part are subjected to an image unevenness suppression operation mode. In the image unevenness suppression operation mode, a black generation and base-color removal part 37 does not perform black generation and base-color removal on pixels in which the minimum value of image data on plural color components is at least not larger than a predetermined threshold.
