Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telescopic actuator which can convert rotational movement to a movement in the axial direction while the shaft is bent, and which is appropriate as a driving source of a service robot.SOLUTION: The telescopic actuator includes: a rotational driving means; a rotation/axial length conversion means which is driven by the rotational driving means and changes a length in the axial direction; and a regulation means which stores the rotation/axial length conversion means therein, is joined to the casing of the rotational driving means and regulates deformation of the whole shape of the rotation/axial length conversion means due to rotation. The rotation/axial length conversion means is constituted of two members, at least one member has a helical shape, is extended and contracted because the engagement position of the two members is changed by rotation, size in the axial direction of a part which accommodates the other member having the helical shape and is engaged with it, and appears repeatedly in the axial direction, is the one obtained by further adding a gap in the axial direction to a size in the axial direction of a shape of the other member which fits into the part and is engaged with it so that the two members can be mutually moved when the rotation/axial length conversion means is bent.
