Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polysulfone-based hollow fiber membrane module that has less deposition of an organic substance, a protein, platelet, etc., and less deterioration of membrane performance in use and that has excellent membrane performance stability with time.SOLUTION: The hollow fiber membrane module is characterized in that the peak area percentage of carbon originating from ester group by ESCA (Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis) in a built-in polysulfone-based hollow fiber membrane surface is ≥0.5 (number of atoms%) and ≤10 (number of atoms%), that the hydrophobic unit amount rate existing on the membrane surface is larger than the hydrophobic unit amount rate existing inside the membrane by ≥30%, and that the built-in hollow fiber membrane has a crimp structure with a wave height of 0.1-0.5 mm and a wavelength of 5.0-10.0 mm.
