Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that an expected performance can be obtained only when a conductive separator is designed while taking account of the electrolytic solution used sufficiently, and to provide an electrolytic capacitor which can efficiently reduce equivalent series resistance (ESR) in the high frequency region.SOLUTION: The electrolytic capacitor comprises: a capacitor element configured by winding an anode foil having a dielectric oxide film formed on the surface, and a cathode foil while sandwiching a separator to which conductivity is imparted by adhesion of an electroconductive polymer; a bottomed cylindrical metal case housing the capacitor element together with an electrolytic solution for driving; and a sealing member sealing the opening of the metal case. A solute is composed of a material of acid component and a material of base component, and the acid component of the solute is contained excessively in mole ratio when compared with the base component of the solute.
