Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the position of an object accurately even if a direct signal from the object to one of receivers is weak as compared with a delayed reflection signal.SOLUTION: Equipment for determining the position of an object includes: receiving means having a plurality of reception elements; detection means for detecting signals 106 received by the reception elements and producing output signals expressing reception signals; and processing means operable, for each reception element, to apply a process to an output signal produced from the signal received by the reception element, aside from any other output signal produced from a signal received by any other reception element, and as a result, to obtain each value of parameters expressing the signal 106 received by the reception element. Furthermore, the processing means compares the parameter values thus obtained, and as a result, acquires positional information on the object.
