Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can perform output processing of an image according to a user's intention.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes a document reading part 102, storage means 105 for storing image data, image output means 107, display image generation means 137 for generating a display image, and an operation unit 120 comprising a display panel 132 and an operation unit side control part 131 having a function for performing the preview display of the display image based on the image data and an output processing function 1311 for performing the output processing. The output processing function 1311 includes a first output process by which, after the image data is input by the document reading part 102, the output image is displayed as a preview on the display panel 132 and then is output, and a second output process by which, after the image data is input by the document reading part 102, the image is output without the preview display of the output image on the display panel 132.
