Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a protein to be spotted on the surface of a carrier for detecting a biologically relevant molecule which specifically binds to the protein, without being adsorbed to any parts except the spots of the carrier.SOLUTION: There is provided an aqueous composition to be used to immobilize a protein on the surface of a carrier for detecting a biologically relevant molecule which specifically binds to the protein. By spotting the carrier with the aqueous composition containing the protein and at least any one of monoalkylene glycols having 4 to 6 carbon atoms, the protein is immobilized on the carrier.
