Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for obtaining an inclusion complex crystal which is expected to be used for various purposes and in which pigment molecules having a large conjugate system are arranged without being associated.SOLUTION: In the preparation of an aqueous solution of an inclusion complex comprising a guest pigment molecule and a host molecule, compositing of the host molecule is promoted by adjusting a pH or ionic strength, or in the preparation of an aqueous solution of an inclusion complex of a pigment insoluble with water, the host molecule and the guest pigment molecule are mixed in a solid powder state to form a precomplex; the precomplex is then dissolved in water to obtain an inclusion complex solution; and the obtained aqueous solution of the inclusion complex is left to stand to crystalize the inclusion complex. The pigment as a guest is arranged without being associated in the inclusion complex crystal having cyclodextrin or its derivative as the host molecule. The crystal is expected, because of the characteristics thereof, to be used as a functional material in the field of optics, electrochemistry, photo-electrochemistry or the like. |
